Tonight is our Spring Cocktail Menu Release Party at El Dorado! This will be our first new menu of 2013, as we take the opportunity at the dawn of each new season to construct cocktails that reflect both the senses of the current climate, as well as represent the classic cocktail families that have been a permanent institution at El Dorado. These are always some of our favorite parties to host, and tomorrow will be no different!

We’ll have all of our new cocktails available at just $5 for the entire evening, and our good friends from Soda & Swine will be in the house serving up appetizers. Harley Magsino will be entertaining the crowd with a selection tunes, and the one and only V-Rock will be spinning jams all night long. We’d like to share two cocktails that we’re really excited about on this menu… hopefully learning a little more will get you nearly as excited as us for tonight!

May 14th at Polite Provisions – Prepare for a Tiki Takeover

TIki

On Tuesday May 14th, and reoccurring the second Tuesday of every month, Erick Castro will transform Polite Provisions into a tropical tiki oasis. Complete with ornate mugs, lavish garnishes, and the true fixings of a great tiki drink – aged rum, falernum, and specialty house-made syrups – our guests will be transported to a true tiki lover’s paradise.

This month, Erick is joined by Marcovaldo “Marco” Dionysos of San Francisco’s Smuggler’s Cove. Marco created the cocktail program at Absinthe Brasserie & Bar in 1997, and has been found serving up cocktails at joints such as Bourbon & Branch, Stars, and Harry Denton’s Starlight Room.

According to Erick, “The latest revival of the tiki scene stemmed from a backlash of pretension we were seeing largely on the craft cocktail front.  It’s not rocket science, there’s just something so approachable about drinking rum, throwing on a Hawaiian shirt and having a good time”. So come down dressed to impress in your best tiki attire, and prepared to enjoy some damn fine tiki drinks. The event is free and open to the public and begins at 7PM. Tiki cocktails will start at $8, limited options from the regular Polite Provisions menu will be available.

This Thursday – St. Archer is Taking Over All Across Town

On Thursday, May 23rd, St. Archer Brewing Co. will be simultaneously taking over the taps at Neighborhood, Craft & Commerce, and UnderBelly. If you are unfamiliar, St. Archer is one of San Diego’s newest breweries, with famed brewers Ray Astamendi & Kim Lutz at the helm. With ties to the local and national art, music, and extreme sport scenes, St. Archer has been drumming up quite the reputation, and we’re very grateful for this opportunity to collaborate with them. All locations will be serving Saint Archer’s Blonde/Kolsch-Style Ale, their California-style Pale Ale, and their bold IPA. All events start at 6:00PM and go until we run out of beer.

At each participating location on the 23rd, we will be releasing a limited collaboration item with St. Archer. At Craft & Commerce we will be offering a complimentary pint glass (pictured above) with the purchase of your first beer. First beer is $7, refills are $4.

At Neighborhood we will be releasing a Saint Archer x Neighborhood limited hoodie available for purchase. All Saint Archer beers will be $5, and we’ll have a cask of their IPA as well.

Finally, at UnderBelly we’ll be releasing a Saint Archer x UnderBelly tee available for purchase. Saint Archer beers will be $5.

We hope to see you around Thursday night, we look forward to lots of great beer and good friends.
