Welcome the American Burger to Neighborhood

As a part of their menu updates, Neighborhood has just debuted their “American Burger”, consisting of 2 four oz. patties, American cheese, Thousand Island dressing, romaine lettuce, pickled zucchini, and tomato. As you can see it’s a pretty serious undertaking; give one a shot the next time you’re around the ‘hood.

While the rest of the internet was busy debating whether Bukowski can actually be attributed to the quote, “Find what you love and let it kill you”, James Rhodes was busy putting together a great article that puts some practical application behind the mantra.

Charity Shuckathon At Ironside

Jason

To celebrate National Oyster Day on Tuesday, August 5thExecutive Chef Jason McLeod welcomes five of the area’s most notable chefs to join him and take a turn behind the raw bar for an epic SHUCK-A-THON from 5pm-10pm. For those who like it raw, Ironside Fish & Oyster will be serving up Baja’s famed Kumiai Oysters donated by Farm Fresh Shellfish for just a buck apiece from 5pm-10pm. Though more convincing is probably not necessary, let us remind you that it’s all for charity, for shuck’s sake.  The chefs are putting their busy schedules on ice for one evening only in order to raise money for their respective charities of choice.  During each chef’s hour, 100% of the proceeds from oyster sales will go to their chosen organization, detailed below.

There is no cost to attend this event and walk-ins are welcome.

Ironside Oyster is Headed to Little Italy

This morning Eater broke the news of our latest concept: Ironside Oyster. We’ve been hard at work researching, traveling, and testing to come up with the best suited seafood offering we can imagine –  landing somewhere in the middle between casual fish spots and upscale fine seafood dining. Check out the article for more details, and check back here for updates as the project progresses.

Didn’t Know He Had It In Him

Not that we agree but, this is great entertainment.

We were honored to hear the news that Restaurant Hospitality named Soda & Swine‘s “The Hog” as one of America’s Best Sandwiches. “The Hog” – comprised of chorizo, brisket, and pork butt with chipotle barbecue sauce and shredded mozzarella – took down the “Best Submarine” title, besting some serious contenders from Chicago and Los Angeles.
